Overview
SL-F1E front flap
|
The Sony SL-F1 was the successor to the SL-3000 portable video recorder.
It came out in 1982 and used the same direct drive reel mechanism
as the SL-C9 which gave the F1 incredibly
good tape transport. The image shown here is of the SL-F1E.
The SL-F1 system was designed for mobile use, and was intended to be connected to a camera for outside filming. As such this unit could be operated either via a battery pack or via a DC adaptor. The F1 was part of a range of Sony units which included the TT-F1, a companion tuner timer unit, the AC-F1 charger/power supply and the PCM-F1, portable PCM adaptor. There was also a camera and backpack available. Details, we hope, will soon be available on these. Features include:
TV connectionsThe following diagrams and explanations can be found in the SL-F1 user manual.First unplug your TV from the mains outlet and remove the aerial cable from its socket in the back of the TV.
TV connection using a tuner timer unitThe recorder's power is supplied from the tuner timer unit. Once any of the above connections has been made, you can view TV programmes in the usual way. To view a video programme, proceed with the TV adjustment as described on page 8. Connecting a colour monitor TVA higher-quality picture is obtained if you connect a colour monitor instead of a conventional TV receiver.
Direct connection to the TVFor this connection, we recommend using an AC-F1UB AC power adaptor. |
